Holiday for a Day

I worked fifteen days straight: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15.

…. which made today’s dedication to leisure seemed reckless, impetuous, irresponsible.  Adventure long overdue, ZuZu and I headed to the river.  The moment we got into our rented kayak, stress receded like the pressure drop before a hailstorm:  swift, cooling, alarming.   Hawks rode thermals, a monarch butterfly drifted southward, teeny turtles sunned on stumps and rocks at the edges of the water.  The river and the trail surrounding it have long been a source of inspiration, and today’s colorway arrived immediately and sat on my toe.  What yarn will tell this little damselfly’s story best?  Perhaps a silk and merino blend?  Or a self striping sock with wide bands of electric turquoise alternating with thin storm-black stripes?  Stay tuned!  In the meantime, check out the updated list of YarnTrekker yarns on Ravelry.

Travel Notes

The Rowing Dock, has a “yappy hour” all day Tuesday- bringing a dog gets you an extra hour free.

According to various intermess sources, the Damselfly is probably a Familiar Bluet, Enallagma civile.
